BoA - Boliviana de Aviación (OB, La Paz El Alto) will become the first carrier to launch commercial operations out of Chimoré almost a year after the airfield was first commissioned.

The state-owned carrier said in a statement that effective Monday, October 31, it would offer a 4x weekly service to Cochabamba.

Chimoré airport is located in the province of Cochabamba Carrasco, in one of Bolivia's main coca producing areas. Government's decision to develop the airfield into an international gateway has brought several compliance issues all of which have been attributed to the long delay in the launch of commercial flights.
