Jeju Air (7C, Jeju) is planning to develop a base in Busan the airline's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ken Choi has disclosed.

Speaking to CAPA, Choi said the LCC was looking to target 20% of Busan's market despite growing slot constraints at the airport.

An independent carrier, Jeju Air currently serves Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, Fukuoka, Guam International, Jeju, Okinawa Naha; Osaka Kansai, Phuket, Saipan, Seoul Gimpo, Shijiazhuang, Taipei Taoyuan, and Tokyo Narita from Busan.

In all Jeju Air operates twenty-seven B737-800s to thirty destinations in twelve countries which, aside from South Korea, include China, Taiwan, Japan, the Northern Mariana Islands, Thailand, Guam, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, and Vietnam.

It maintains hubs at Seoul Incheon, Seoul Gimpo, and Jeju with its most prominent routes being Jeju-Gimpo followed by Busan-Jeju, Cheongju-Jeju, and Daegu-Jeju.
