IAG Cargo has added another transatlantic conduit to its portfolio in the form of OpenSkies (BOS, Paris Orly), the French subsidiary of British Airways (BA, London Heathrow) which specialises in direct flights between France and the United States.

According to a statement, IAG Cargo now offers bellyhold capacity on OpenSkies' B767-300(ER) flights between Paris Orly and New York Newark. Among the cargo transported thus far includes general haberdashery, perishables and mechanical parts.

"Our new route opens direct access from mainland Europe to the North-East of the USA maximising efficiencies and minimising security and handling costs for European forwarders," IAG Cargo commercial director, Dave Shepherd, said. "This launch demonstrates our commitment to investing in and delivering against market demand to meet the needs of global businesses, while our network and product portfolio is ideally suited to help support to the key commodity flows we expect on this route."

The new cargo service complements IAG International Airlines Group's existing operation to the United States that includes twenty-two gateways and over 800 flights a week.
