Hong Kong Airlines (HX, Hong Kong International) Chief Commercial Officer Li Dianchun has outlined the carrier's proposed longhaul expansion plans for the period covering 2017-20.

In an interview with the China Times newspaper last month, Li said that aside from Vancouver International, other intercontinental services on the cards include London, San Francisco, Los Angeles International, Paris, Melbourne Tullamarine, Sydney Kingsford Smith, Milan Malpensa, Chicago O'Hare, and Christchurch among other destinations.

The expansion will coincide with the delivery of the carrier's first of fifteen A350-900s the first of which is due to enter commercial service in August next year.

At present, Hong Kong Airlines operates eleven A320-200s, nine A330-200s and nine A330-300s on scheduled passenger flights to forty-four destinations in seventeen countries spread across Asia (Central, North, and Southeast) and Oceania.
