The Cuzco office of Peru's National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Protection of Intellectual Property (INDECOPI) has issued sanctions against six Peruvian airlines for violations of consumer protections. The violations are primarily for flight delays and cancellations in the Cuzco region, a district in the southeast of Peru.

Peruvian Airlines (Lima International) was fined PEN77,000 (USD22,700) after a landing gear defect left a B737-300 with registration OB-2040-P (msn 24329) disabled on the runway at Cusco in October 2015. The incident led to the suspension of all flights for four hours.

Other airlines hit with fines were LATAM Airlines Perú (LP, Lima International), LC Perú (LCB, Lima International), Star Perú (2I, Lima International) and Trans American Airlines (Lima International) (trading as TACA and Avianca Peru) for breach of itineraries. All are appealing their fines, which range from PEN7,900 to PEN114,550 (USD2,300 to USD33,750).
