Philippines AirAsia (Z2, Manila Ninoy Aquino International) has applied to the Filipino Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) for route authority to serve Delhi International, India from Manila Ninoy Aquino International via Bangkok Don Mueang, Thailand.

According to CAB regulatory filings, the LCC plans to operate the route 7x weekly. If approved and ultimately launched, it will be the carrier's first service to the Indian subcontinent and the first direct service between the two countries.

The AirAsia (AK, Kuala Lumpur International) subsidiary currently serves Cebu, Davao, Manila, Kalibo, Puerto Princesa, Tacloban, and Panglao locally and Hong Kong International, Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur International, Macau International, Seoul Incheon, Shanghai Pudong, and Taipei Taoyuan internationally.
