Travel Service Airlines (Prague Václav Havel) has finalized an order with Boeing (BOE, Washington National) for five B737 8 MAXs. The quintet of jets adds to the three already ordered during the Paris Air Show in 2013.

"We are pleased to add more 737 MAXs to our original order and we look forward to receiving the first one to become the first airline to operate the 737 MAX in this region," Roman Vik, Chief Executive Officer - Travel Service, said.

As part of its plans to operate forty B737 MAX 8s by 2025, the Czech ACMI/charter specialist has also committed to leasing eighteen known additional aircraft from various lessors including AerCap (ten), GECAS (six), and Air Lease Corporation (two). Deliveries will commence from 2018 onwards.

Travel Service's Czech mainline operation currently employs two B737-700s, fourteen B737-800s, and two B737-900(ER)s of which two B737-700s and three B737-800s are used by its Smartwings (Prague Václav Havel) scheduled services division.
