Allegiant Air (G4, Las Vegas McCarran) has announced it will open a base at Destin-Fort Walton Beach later this summer.

In a press release, the ULCC said effective May 3, 2017, it would begin rolling out regular services from the Floridian town to Kansas City Int'l, Austin Bergstrom Int'l, Cleveland Hopkins, Peoria, Louisville Int'l, Columbus Rickenbacher, OH, Springfield, MO, Indianapolis Int'l, Baltimore Thurgood Marshall, Pittsburgh Int'l, and Newark. Existing Allegiant services from the airfield include Belleville, Cincinnati Int'l, Knoxville McGhee Tyson, Las Vegas McCarran, Memphis Int'l, and Oklahoma City Will Rogers World.

"Our presence in Florida continues to grow as we announce our largest expansion into a Florida destination in the company's history," said Jude Bricker, Allegiant chief operating officer. "A new base in Destin / Fort Walton Beach will allow us to better serve travelers, including those in Louisville, Kentucky, who we welcome today as a brand new city in our network."

Allegiant also maintains bases at Bellingham, Cincinnati Int'l, Fort Lauderdale Int'l, Las Vegas McCarran, Los Angeles Int'l, New Orleans Int'l, Orlando Sanford, Phoenix Williams Gateway, Pittsburgh Int'l, Punta Gorda, FL, and St. Petersburg/Clearwater.
