Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (Zhukovsky) says it has completed repairs on six of the eleven Interjet (AIJ, Toluca) SSJ 100/95s grounded last month owing to structural defects in their stabiliser attachment bands.

The Russian aircraft manufacturer said its technical teams had carried out the repairs in-situ in Mexico.

"The troubleshooting procedure was agreed to with the Russian aviation authorities (Federal Air Transport Agency) and carried out under the control of the Mexican aviation authorities (DGAC)," it said in a statement.

FlightRadar24 ADS-B data indicates six Interjet SSJ 100s remain grounded as of January 11 with the remainder having since been returned to service. An LCC, Interjet is one of the world's largest operators of the SSJ 100 with twenty-two in its fleet.

According to Russia's Vedomosti newspaper, nineteen SuperJets in service with carriers around the world were found to have defects.
