easyJet (London Luton) has revised previously announced plans to abandon the Milan Malpensa-Rome Fiumicino market later this quarter.

Following Alitalia's decision to withdraw from the route from January 31, 2017, onwards, the UK-based budget carrier has now announced that it will continue to connect the two airports through March 27 and into the summer 2017 season.

"In the actual context of the market, we want to maintain flights between Milan Malpensa and Rome Fiumicino as it offers an ideal solution to travellers who commute between the two cities on a daily basis," Frances Ouseley, easyJet's Italian director, said in a statement.
