Avian Líneas Aéreas (Buenos Aires Jorge Newbery) has taken delivery of its first of eighteen ATR72-600s on order from ATR - Avions de Transport Régional following the arrival of LV-GUG (msn 1343) in Argentina on Sunday, January 15.
Operating as Avianca Argentina, the start-up expects to complete its launch formalities and begin regular passenger flights from its Buenos Aires Jorge Newbery and Córdoba International hubs later this quarter.
Last year, the carrier applied to the Argentine government for route authorities to serve various local towns and cities as well as cities in Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Uruguay, and Peru.
