bmi regional (Aberdeen Dyce) has announced it will open a base at Birmingham, GB later this quarter.

According to a Birmingham airport statement, the UK regional carrier will start with 2x weekly flights to Graz, Austria, on February 27 followed by 6x weekly services to each of Gothenburg Landvetter and Nuremberg in early May.

“We are delighted to be introducing flights from Birmingham as part of our ongoing growth strategy to connect key business regions," Jochen Schnadt, Chief Commercial Officer from bmi regional, said. "The Midlands is a powerhouse for business and industry in the UK and arguably the real home of the “Made in Britain” label. Having frequent connections to other European business centres is, therefore, critical for the region. Given this strong business affinity, we believe our new Graz, Nuremberg and Gothenburg routes will prove very popular with business customers."

bmi maintains bases at Aberdeen Dyce, Bristol International, Chester Hawarden, Nottingham East Midlands, Munich, and Newcastle, GB.
