Eastern Airways (T3, Humberside) has announced that it will be expanding its route offerings from Rodez in southern France. The British carrier will add a seasonal service to Milan Malpensa and Southampton and a year-round service to Lyon St. Exupéry.

Previously, Eastern's only French service connected Rodez to Paris Orly, which it commenced in January 2016 after winning a four-year concession. As part of its Rodez expansion, the airline will base a second aircraft at the airport.

In a press release, Mathew Herzberg, Eastern Airways' Head of Commercial, said that Lyon has strong trade links with Rodez. "The convenient Rodez route to Lyon also allows for onward connections to Eastern Europe and the Far East."

Eastern flies predominantly UK domestic routes on its fleet of two E170s, three E145s, two E135s, nine Saab 2000s, and seventeen Jetstream 41s.
