Surigao Airport, which serves the general area of Surigao City, in the Filipino province of Surigao del Norte, has been closed to all traffic after it incurred severe damage during a magnitude 6.7 earthquake last week.

In a NOTAM issued on Saturday, February 11, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) warned all operators, commercial and private alike, that the airfield's 1,700 metre-long runway 18/36 would be closed until March 10 to allow for repair work to be done. The airfield's terminal sustained minimal damage.

According to The Inquirer newspaper, for the duration of Surigao's downtime, Cebgo (DG, Manila Ninoy Aquino International) and PAL Express (2P, Manila Ninoy Aquino International) will instead use Butuan Airport, located ninety kilometres away.
