Air New Zealand (NZ, Auckland International) has signed a longterm lease agreement with Air Lease Corporation for one B787-9. The US-based lessor said in a statement the aircraft, sourced from its Boeing (BOE, Washington National) order book, would be delivered during the third quarter of 2018.

Air New Zealand already operates nine B787-9s all of which it owns.

The New Zealand-based carrier is an existing ALC customer leasing A320 and B777-300(ER) machinery. Later this year, it will also add five new A321neo and A320neo aircraft on long-term leases.
