Malaysia Airlines (MH, Kuala Lumpur International) has announced it expects its first A350-900 to arrive in December of this year, approximately one or two months behind schedule.

In a 4Q16 earnings statement, the Malaysian carrier said that as a result of the delay, it may potentially seek additional widebody aircraft from either Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) or Boeing (BOE, Washington National) for introduction in 1Q18 "to increase seats and improve product quality available on existing routes".

Malaysia Airlines will lease six A350-900s from Air Lease Corporation with deliveries to have run from the fourth quarter of 2017 through to the second quarter of 2018.
