Air India Express (IX, Delhi International) has issued a Request For Proposals (RFP) for the dry lease of two B737-800s for a period of eight years with an option to extend the lease for a further four years.

According to tender documents issued this week, the aircraft must be powered by CFM International CFM56-7B27BE powerplants and must be ETOPS-120 compliant. They must also be configured in a single-class layout featuring 189 seats. No Inflight Entertainment systems are required to be installed.

The aircraft must be delivered to the Air India (AI, Delhi International) unit latest by December 2018 while the deadline for submissions is April 21, 2017.

Air India Express, also known as Air India Charters Ltd., operates twenty-three B737-800s of which six are leased from GECAS and ten from Golden State Aircraft.
