Delta Air Lines (DL, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) has ordered ten B737-900(ER)s from Boeing (BOE, Washington National) a recent SEC filing has revealed.

Delta states the aircraft are Incremental as defined under its existing purchase agreement with the US manufacturer. They are being used to replace older, less cost-effective B757-200 aircraft of which it operates 104.

The ch-aviation aircraft database shows Delta currently operates seventy-six B737-900(ER)s.

The carrier's future aircraft purchase commitments as of March 31, 2017, include fifty-five B737-900(ER)s, sixty-four A321-200s, one A330-300, twenty-five A330-900neo, twenty-five A350-900s, and seventy-five A220-100s.
