Qantas (QF, Sydney Kingsford Smith) is expected to officially launch its London HeathrowPerth International route this week, with tickets to go on sale for the March 2018 flights.

The Independent speculates that the flight will depart Heathrow at 10am, arriving at Perth at midday the following day, before continuing on to Melbourne Tullamarine. Connecting flights from Perth's to-be-upgraded domestic terminal will carry passengers to other cities on Australia's east coast.

The 14,498 kilometre flight will be aboard B787-9 aircraft and will be the longest route conducted by the Australian carrier. Qantas has eight B787-9s on order with the first provisionally due for delivery in October.
