Loong Air (GJ, Hangzhou) has entered into an agreement to lease five A320-200 aircraft from Singapore based lessor BOC Aviation. All five aircraft are scheduled to be delivered to the Chinese operator during the course of 2017.

Loong currently already operates twenty A320-200s from its main base in Hangzhou operating on a network including forty-four domestic destinations in China. It also operates three B737-300(F) freighters.

It is a new customer for BOC Aviation which will source the aircraft from its orderbook with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac).

Aviation Week had reported in March that Loong Air was considered placing an order for up to 30 B737 MAX aircraft with Boeing (BOE, Washington National) with Loong also considering adding second-hand A330 aircraft as its first widebodies ahead of a potential A330neo or B787-9 order.
