National Airlines (N8, Orlando Sanford) has announced that it will operate scheduled round-the-world charter operations in conjunction with Navitrans USA, starting June 1.

The flights will run from Chicago O'Hare via Liège, Baku Heydar Aliev International, Hong Kong International, Tokyo Narita and Anchorage Ted Stevens back to Chicago O'Hare. Additionally, National will operate a 2x weekly flight for Navitrans between the US and China.

In anticipation of the global route, National Airlines applied to the Department of Transportation last week for an amendment to its exemption to provide foreign air transportation of property and mail between points in the US and points in China. The amendment seeks to extend the exemption to include any intermediate points and to points beyond China.

Navitrans is a cargo charter specialist based out of New York JFK. National, based out of Orlando, primarily offers on-demand cargo operations, but also has a limited passenger service. It has a fleet of two B747-400(F)s and two B757-200s.
