Qantas Freight (Sydney Kingsford Smith) has announced it has entered into a one-year agreement with Sai Cheng Logistics International (Sai Cheng) to fly airmail out of China to the United States on a weekly basis.

Sai Cheng is a joint venture company between Australia Post and China Post, which provides an integrated logistics solution for Chinese customers to overseas markets including Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the US, Europe, and South America.

Under this contract, Qantas Freight will airlift China Post airmail from its logistics hubs in Shanghai and Hong Kong to various points in the United States using the Australian carrier's B747-400(F) network from Shanghai and bellyhold capacity out of Hong Kong International via Australia.

The new agreement builds on Qantas's existing relationship with Australia Post, which includes contracts for the transport of Australian international outbound mail as well as a dedicated domestic air freighter network.

Qantas Freight currently operates four freighter services per week from Shanghai Pudong to the United States, including stops in Los Angeles International, New York JFK, Chicago O'Hare, and Dallas/Fort Worth.
