Neos Air (NO, Milan Malpensa) is planning to commence B787 operations during the final quarter of the year, ch-aviation analysis of schedule data has revealed.

The Italian carrier will lease three B787-9s from AerCap, the first of which is due to arrive from Boeing (BOE, Washington National) in December of this year. The remaining two are due in June and October of next year.

As it stands, the first B787 will enter revenue service on Christmas Day (December 25) with a weekly flight from Milan Malpensa to Malé in the Maldives. Additional services are expected to be announced in due course.

Neos plans to use the B787s to replace its current fleet of three B767-300(ER)s.
