AirAsia (AK, Kuala Lumpur International) has signed an agreement with Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) for the purchase of an additional fourteen A320ceo. The aircraft, once delivered, will be used to meet what the LCC terms "Higher than expected near-term growth" on its regional Asian network.
Subject to board approval, this order will see AirAsia's overall Airbus order book grow to 592 units including 174 A320ceo, 304 A320neo, and 100 A321neo.
