Air Kiribati (IK, Tarawa) has confirmed it will now make its international debut towards the end of the quarter. In a statement, the South Pacific island carrier said weekly flights from Tarawa to Honiara would commence from August 30 in conjunction with Solomons - Solomon Airlines (IE, Honiara). The partnership will also include flights to Brisbane International, Australia.
Air Kiribati is also in the process of acquiring a Dash 8-100 for use in expanding its domestic services. A maiden jet is also expected early next year. It currently operates one DHC-6-300 and one Y12E.
