S7 Airlines (S7, Novosibirsk) has taken delivery of its first A320neo - VQ-BCF (msn 7629) - thereby becoming the type's Russian launch operator. On lease from BOC Aviation, the twinjet features Pratt & Whitney PW1100G-JMs and is configured with eight seats in business class and 156 in economy. It will shortly be deployed on regular flights between Moscow Domodedovo and Novosibirsk.
The Russian carrier is expected to take delivery of a second of the type, also leased from BOC Aviation, in the first half of 2018. S7 has at least eighteen additional A320neo due to arrive in the coming months and years including two from Air Lease Corporation (due this year), ten from AerCap, and six from Wilmington Trust SP Services (Dublin).
