Widerøe (WF, Bodø) is set to partner Finnair (AY, Helsinki Vantaa) in the launch of flights from Norway to Helsinki Vantaa, Finland, beginning next year.

The Finnish carrier said in a statement Wideroe would use its fleet of E190-E2s, the first of which is due in March 2018, to start flights to the Finnish capital from each of Bergen, on Norway’s southwestern coast, and Tromsø, in northern Norway, with Finnair overseeing their sales and marketing.

From May 15, 2018, Wideroe will offer daily Bergen-Helsinki flights alongside a weekly Tromso-Helsinki service. Both flights are timed to connect to Finnair’s Asian flights as well as to its European network.

As the E190-E2's launch operator, Wideroe is expecting at least three of the type to arrive in 2018. One of the aircraft will be based at Oslo Torp with the other two deployed to Bergen, Flesland.

In terms of current commercial partnerships, Wideroe has codeshare agreements with Eastern Airways (T3, Humberside) and SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK, Copenhagen Kastrup).
