UPS Airlines (5X, Louisville International) has taken delivery of its first B747-8(F) following the positioning of N605UP (msn 64252) to Louisville International from Everett on September 29.

The United Parcel Service unit has firm orders for fourteen of the type with options for fourteen more. In a 2Q17 earnings call earlier this year, UPS chairman and CEO David Abney confirmed the aircraft would be deployed primarily on trunk routes, especially those between Asia and the United States.

UPS Airlines also operates fifty-two A300-600Fs, two B747-400(BCF)s, eleven B747-400(FSCD)s, seventy-five B757-200(PF)s, fifty-nine B767-300(ERF)s, and thirty-seven MD-11(F)s.
