Bombardier Aerospace (BBA, Montréal Trudeau) has announced it has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with an undisclosed European customer for up to sixty-one C-Series jets.

The Canadian manufacturer said in its 3Q17 earnings disclosure the tentative order includes thirty-one firm ordered jets with the remaining thirty listed as options.

“This significant new order confirms the increasing confidence customers have in the C Series,” Alain Bellemare, President and Chief Executive Officer, Bombardier Inc, said. “Looking forward, as Airbus joins the program, and with the C Series continuing to prove itself in service, we expect sales momentum to accelerate quickly.”

The LOI is subject to the execution of a purchase agreement which is expected before year-end.

As of September 30, 2017, Bombardier has received firm orders for a total of 360 C-Series aircraft from operators and lessors that include Air Canada, airBaltic, SaudiGulf Airlines, BRA - Braathens Regional Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Lufthansa Group, Falcon Aviation Services, Gulf Air, Ilyushin Finance, Iraqi Airways, Korean Air, LCI - Lease Corporation International, Macquarie AirFinance, Odyssey Airlines, PrivatAir (Switzerland), Republic Airlines, and TGF - Tanzania Government Flight.
