Fastjet Mozambique (Maputo) has commenced operations as of Friday, November 3, offering regular flights from Maputo to each of Beira (2x daily), Nampula (daily), and Tete (4x weekly). Operations are onboard E145 equipment chartered from Solenta Aviation Mozambique (FW, Maputo).

Aside from incumbent operators LAM - Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique and MEX - Mocambique Expresso, other entrants set to make their domestic Mozambican market debut in the coming months include Ethiopian Airlines, its Malawi Airlines unit, and two other Mozambican operators, TTA - Sociedade de Transporte e Trabalho Aéreo and CFM - Transportes e Trabalhos Aéreos.

The Mozambican government opened up the country's market to foreign cabotage earlier this year in the hopes of improving the sprawling southern African state's connectivity.
