Delta Air Lines (DL, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) is nearing a decision on its McDonnell Douglas fleet renewal plans Bloomberg has reported quoting people familiar with the matter.

According to the report, the US carrier has courted Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) and Boeing (BOE, Washington National) over its interest in the B737-8 and bigger MAX 10 as well as the A320neo and A321neo.

A decision is due by year-end with an order set to feature firm commitments for up to 100 aircraft with options for 100 more. Collectively, the jets would be used to replace Delta's 111 MD-88s and sixty-two MD-90-30s as well as aging B757 and Airbus A320 aircraft.
