LOT Polish Airlines (LO, Warsaw Chopin) will operate six regular charter routes this winter, including two new services to Rio de Janeiro International and Panamá City Tocumen International, the carrier has announced.

The Polish airline regularly charters out capacity on its B787-8s to tour operators during the winter seasons to cope with lower demand on its key trans-Atlantic routes.

According to LOT's statement, the carrier will fly to Rio de Janeiro every 10-11 days beginning November 2 through March 19, 2018. The route to Panama City will be operated with the same frequency between December 25 and March 17, 2018.

LOT will also operate flights to destinations served previously: Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (1x weekly from November 4 through March 24, 2018), Ho Chi Minh City (every 10-11 days from November 5 through March 22, 2018), Cancún (alternatively 1x and 2x weekly from October 31 through March 25, 2018) and Varadero (alternatively 1x and 2x weekly from November 1 through March 21, 2018).

All services will be operated with a 252-seat B787-8s and are chartered by tour operator Rainbow.

LOT currently operates eight B787-8s and is scheduled to take delivery of three larger B787-9s in 2018. Excluding charters, the state-owned airline flies with these aircraft to New York JFK, New York Newark, Chicago O'Hare, Los Angeles International, Toronto Pearson, Beijing Capital, Tokyo Narita and Seoul Incheon.
