Ethiopian Airlines (ET, Addis Ababa International) has ordered four more B777-Fs US manufacturer Boeing (BOE, Washington National) has announced. In a statement, Boeing said the aircraft entail a new order for two freighters as well as two more the airline announced as a commitment in June that were only recently firmed.

Ethiopian currently operates six B777 freighters alongside two B757-200(PF)s.

Separately, Ethiopian's Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Tewolde Gebremariam, has told Reuters his airline is interested in Boeing's proposed new B797 mid-sized jet. Seating between 220 and 270, Gebremariam said Ethiopian Airlines would be interested in around ten to twenty of the aircraft.
