Nolinor Aviation (N5, Montréal Trudeau) has announced that it, in partnership with Sarliaq Aviation, has secured a ten-year contract to provide air transportation services to Agnico Eagle Mines' mining projects located in the Kivalliq region of Nunavut.

In a statement, the Quebec-based passenger charter specialist said the contract would cover the transport of mine staff, as well as cargo, between Montréal Trudeau, Abitibi-Temiscamingue and its Kivalliq-based mine sites. Operations are on-board B737-200Adv equipment.

Sarliaq and Nolinor have an existing partnership wherein the latter has a joint venture with the former’s parent company, Sarliaq Holdings Inc., to help provide transportation services to the Meadowbank mine.

"We are already transporting Agnico Eagle's workers and cargo to its Meadowbank open-pit gold mine near Baker Lake," Jacques Prud'Homme, President of Nolinor Aviation, said. "The new agreement adds additional flights to Rankin Inlet for its new Meliadine mine, which is currently under construction. In total, Nolinor will fly 416 flights a year, 8 flights a week to Nunavut."
