Jet Airways (JAI, Mumbai International) and Air France-KLM have signed an enhanced cooperation agreement covering flights between India, Amsterdam Schiphol and Paris CDG.

Under the terms of the agreement, the airlines will virtually merge their services between the European and Indian airports. The companies have agreed to increase their capacity on these routes and improve connecting opportunities via Paris CDG, Amsterdam, Chennai, Delhi International, Mumbai International and Bangalore International. Benefits of loyalty programmes Flying Blue and JetPrivilege will be extended to passengers of the partner airline worldwide. The companies will also coordinate sales and marketing efforts.

Together with the transatlantic partnership with Delta Air Lines, Air France-KLM aims to provide better travel opportunities for Indian passengers flying to the United States. According to the company's statement, it already carries some 600,000 passengers annually between India and the US via Paris and Amsterdam.

Air France-KLM Cargo and Jet Airways Cargo have also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

This is the first ever such an extensive cooperation agreement signed by an Indian company.

Jet Airways has already cooperated with Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines since 2014. In 2016, the companies have signed an extensive code-share agreement. Besides the routes between the airlines' hubs, it also covers some domestic services operated by Jet Airways, as well as European and transatlantic services operated by Air France and KLM.

Currently, Air France offers 21x weekly services from Paris CDG to India, flying 7x weekly to each of Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi. KLM adds a further 10x weekly connections from Amsterdam, including 7x weekly flights to Delhi and 3x weekly to Mumbai. Jet Airways operates 21x weekly flights to Amsterdam (7x weekly each from Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi) and 12x weekly to Paris CDG (7x weekly from Mumbai and 5x weekly from Chennai).

According to the ch-aviation capacity module, the three airlines in total have 31.48% market share by total capacity between Europe and India.
