The Montenegrin government has confirmed the official name for its ToMontenegro (Podgorica) project will be Air Montenegro (4O, Podgorica).

The Ministry of Capital Investments made the disclosure in a tender for the start-up's branding, which is open to the public, both local and international. The deadline for submissions is 1200L (1000Z) on May 4, 2021. The first prize is EUR16,000 euro (USD18,900) to be paid upon signing the contract and delivering the logo after possible technical adaptations.

Despite the change in brand name, the carrier's legal name - ToMontenegro D.O.O. - will remain as is.

The state-backed start-up has already been financed to the tune of EUR20 million (USD24 million) as it prepares to begin it licencing gauntlet. Existing plans call for the airline to make its commercial debut in June this year using at least two ex-Montenegro Airlines E195s the government acquired from GECAS.
