TAG Airlines (5U, Guatemala City) has taken delivery of its first ATR - Avions de Transport Régional turboprop, after TG-ATD (msn 928) was ferried to Guatemala City from Toulouse Francazal via Terceira, St. John's, Halifax, and Nassau International between June 29 and July 1.

As previously reported, the near-12-year-old plane is the first of four ex-Jet Airways ATR72-500s the Guatemalan carrier is leasing from Willis Lease Finance, the others being msn 919, 920, and 932. Collectively, they are part of a USD17 million investment to help drive the airline's domestic and regional growth plans.

TAG currently operates six S340As, two S340B(Plus)s, and one EMB-145LR on regular flights throughout Guatemala as well as to Belize, Mexico, Honduras, and El Salvador. It recently signed a strategic partnership agreement with CM Airlines in Honduras wherein the two carriers will cooperate developing connectivity throughout Mundo Maya (El Salvador, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico).

CM Airlines operates E110s and Let 410s on scheduled services primarily throughout Honduras as well as to Guatemala and Mexico.
