Arajet (DM, Santo Domingo Las Américas) has announced it will launch scheduled passenger operations on September 15, 2022, with 13 international routes out of Santo Domingo Las Américas due within the first month.
The ch-aviation schedules module shows the start-up low-cost carrier will serve the following destinations:
- Barranquilla (3x weekly from September 15),
- Cali (3x weekly starting September 15),
- Aruba (2x weekly starting September 16),
- San Salvador International (2x weekly starting September 17),
- St. Maarten (2x weekly starting September 17),
- Cartagena Rafael Núñez International (2x weekly starting September 18),
- Curacao (2x weekly starting September 18),
- Lima International (2x weekly starting September 18),
- México City Felipe Angeles (3x weekly starting September 22),
- Guatemala City (2x weekly starting September 28),
- Cancún (3x weekly starting September 30),
- Monterrey Mariano Escobedo (2x weekly starting September 30), and
- San José Juan Santamaría (5x weekly starting October 8).
Backed by Bain Capital, Arajet has so far taken four B737-8s with another due by the end of the year. Although it has a firm order with Boeing (BOE, Washington National) for twenty B737-8/B737-8-200s with deliveries due to commence in 2024, it expects to add more aircraft on lease by that time.
