1time airline (Johannesburg O.R. Tambo) has announced plans to withdraw two of its MD-80s and to lay off approximately 15% of its staff as part of the business rescue plan it is currently working on. 1time currently operates three MD-82s, four MD-83s and three MD-87s. The low-cost carrier had to file for business rescue, the South African equivalent of Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, earlier this year due to financial difficulties.
