Meridiana fly (Olbia) has been assigned traffic rights in the Italy-Russia bilateral air services agreement allowing it to launch scheduled services between Milan and Moscow as the second Italian carrier. Alitalia (AZA, Rome Fiumicino) currently operates two daily services between Milan Malpensa and Moscow Sheremetyevo and traffic rights on the route have become available for a second Italian carrier following the suspension of all services by low-cost carrier Windjet (Catania). Meridiana fly already offers seasonal services from both Cagliari and Olbia to Moscow Domodedovo.
