Jasmin Airways (JAW, Enfidha) plans to launch charter operations on behalf of tour operators from Enfidha with a fleet of two A320-200s from 2013. The carrier has failed to receive approval for its plans from the Tunisian government according to press reports in Tunisia with the government reportedly denying to review any new applications for air operator certificate from private airlines for the time being. Syphax Airlines (Sfax) has launched scheduled operations with two A319-100s earlier this in competition with state owned Tunisair (TU, Tunis) causing a wide range of protests from Tunisair employees.
