Ryanair (FR, Dublin International) has reportedly been placed onto a waiting list after it was awarded only 1'847 out of the 4'708 slots it applied for at Lisbon for the Winter 2013/14 season, the Portuguese airports authority, ANA Aeroportos de Portugal, has announced. However, CEO Michael O'Leary, has reiterated that Ryanair's entry into the Lisbon market is still dependent on the full privatization of ANA, due later this year. He has also stated that should flights begin, his airline intends to launch with fourteen routes, but that "may go up to forty". Ryanair already has bases at Faro and Porto in Portugal.
