Tajik Air (7J, Dushanbe) has had its sole Yunshuji Y-7, EY-201, grounded along with all other Tajik-registered aircraft of the type, following a recent incident at Dushanbe in which the turboprop is said to have just "dropped out of the sky". The announcement was confirmed by Alisher Rustamov, the head of the Tajik Civil Aviation Department at a news conference in Dushanbe on July 29. “It is a constructional error of the plant and we are currently waiting for Chinese specialists [from Xian Aircraft Company (Xi'an Yanliang)] who will arrive in Dushanbe to establish the cause of the incident,” said Rustamov. “And only after their resolution will we decide what to do with these Chinese aircraft.” The Central Asian nation now joins Myanmar in grounding the MA-60 which in recent months, has suffered from a number of accidents.
