Inter Global de Aviación (Madrid Barajas) is a new Spanish charter operator that will operate direct Asuncion, Paraguay and La Paz El Alto to Madrid Barajas flights beginning December this year. In a press release issued this week, Inter Global says it intends to exploit the niche market for Paraguay - Spain flights that has been left vacant for almost 20 years. No further news regarding its planned fleet or exact launch date has yet been revealed although on its website Inter Global lists B767-300(ER)s and A340-300s as possible aircraft types. Meanwhile, another Spanish venture, set up by former executives from several of Spain's most prominent tourism & hospitality firms, Globalia, Barceló, Orizonia and Marsans, is looking to fill the void left by Spanair (Barcelona El Prat) on Canary Islands - Madrid routes. Still in its initial stages, the group is still in the process of raising their venture capital.
