Gem Air (Salmon) owners JoAnn Wolters and Daniel Schroeder have applied to the US Department of Transportation for a commuter air carrier licence for their new initiative. Documents seen by ch-aviation show the carrier is looking to operate scheduled flights between Salmon and Boise. "Service frequency will be 2 round trips 6 days a week from June through August and 5 rounds trips 3 days a week September through May. Service will be provided using a nine-seater Quest Kodiak 100." Wolters and Schroeder say they currently have a "non-compete" agreement with McCall Aviation (MKL, Mc Call) which expires on May 1 of this year. Gem Air currently operates ad-hoc contract flying to McCall Aviation. The couple had previously sold Salmon Air (Salmon) to McCall Aviation in 2009 and agreed not to operate scheduled services from Salmon for five years.
