Dynamic Airways (Greensboro Piedmont Triad International) has been expelled from Brazil after authorities there found it guilty of operating illegal domestic flights.

Following an investigation into international carriers operating domestic charter flights over the period June 5 to 25, the Brazilian civil aviation authority (Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil - ANAC) said two Dynamic Airways B767-200(ER)s were found to have operated two illegal flights through Natal Aluizio Alves, Fortaleza International and Belém International airports.

"The final ejection of the two Dynamic aircraft occurred last Tuesday (24/06). According to the administrative process that is still ongoing, various breaches of ANAC protocol that have so far been identified include: failures in the provision of passenger handling; operations without landing and takeoff times (slots) and the practice of cabotage, an operation reserved solely for domestic companies and prohibited to foreign carriers under the Brazilian Aeronautical Code."

The expulsion was undertaken in concert with the Brazilian air traffic control agency (Departamento de Controle do Espaço Aéreo - DECEA) as well as the US Department of Transportation (DoT) and the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The regulator added that the aircraft had only been authorized to transport a delegation of Ghanaians from the United States to Natal on June 15 with the return flights scheduled for June 21.

Brazilian newspaper, Folha de S.Paulo, says the carrier had been represented by a reserve colonel in the Força Aérea Brasileira (FAB, Brasília Juscelino Kubitschek International), Douglas Machado, with tickets for the flights having all been sold by foreign, not local, travel agencies.

Among the affected passengers were 400 Nigerians.
