Air Algérie (AH, Algiers) has added to its leased fleet with an MD-83, EC-JUG (msn 49847), sourced from Spanish ACMI firm, Swiftair (WT, Madrid Barajas). According to sources familiar with the airline's operations, the contract will run for the duration of summer.

As reported last week, the Algerian national carrier has also wet-leased an A330-300 from AirAsia X (D7, Kuala Lumpur International) as well as two A340-300s from Hi Fly (5K, Beja).

UPDATE as of July 24, 2014: The initial aircraft has since been replaced by another MD-83, EC-LTV (msn 53190) that has crashed on flight AH5017 from Ouagadougou to Algiers on July 24.
