Air France (AF, Paris CDG) has announced the signing of a damp-lease agreement with Transavia France (TO, Paris Orly) concerning four A320s which are now based out of Paris Orly. Under the agreement, the twinjets, which have been operating in Transavia colours since July 1, will be operated by Air France pilots and maintenance but with transavia cabin crew.
"These measures will enable Air France to strengthen transavia.com's offering, which covers 11 new destinations this summer. The low-cost airline will operate 20 aircraft during the summer and will serve around one hundred destinations in Europe and the Mediterranean," Air France said.
Four A320s will be leased during the busy summer months of July and August with two to remain up to the end of March 2015.
The French national carrier has also outlined various other fleeting initiatives in line with its Transform 2015 turnaround plan among them the phased-withdrawal of its fleet of thirteen A340-300s between 2016 and 2019 as well as the introduction of a personalized biz-jet product operated by Wijet (Paris Le Bourget) and aimed at premium class passengers.
"The private jet services are operated by Wijet in Cessna 510ype aircraft, which can take-off from or to 1,200 airports in France and in Europe within two and a half hours of Paris CDG, an ideal solution for flying to a destination which is not served by a major airport or which is closer to home. Customers can also choose their own departure time."
