Kan Air (KND, Chiang Mai) has ventured into the private jet business with the launch of twice weekly Chiang Mai to Hua Hin and Ubon Ratchathani flights on-board a six-seat Premier I. A third route - Bangkok Don Mueang to Mae Sot - is expected to launch shortly. Fares for the executive flights are currently pegged at THB2990 (USD94) per seat.

According to airline president, Somphong Sooksanguan, the purpose of the flights is not to generate revenue, but rather to boost the routes' profiles ahead of their commercial launch by Kan Air.

Sooksanguan told the Bangkok Times that the use of the Premier I is also aimed at maintaining the validity of the routes' respective traffic rights granted the airline by the Thai Department of Civil Aviation (DCA).

Kan Air plans to replace the Premier I on the three routes with ATR72-500s sourced from Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC), starting in the second half of next month.
