TAP Portugal (Lisbon) has postponed its planned resumption of flights to the capital of Guinea-Bissau, Bissau, after an inspection of the airport's security measures revealed glaring inadequacies.

"TAP announces that the operation to Guinea-Bissau is delayed for a period none less than 45 days, due to necessary operating conditions, that were not yet fulfilled," the carrier said.

The route, which was to have resumed on October 28, was suspended in December last year after a TAP flight to Lisbon was forced by authorities in Bissau to depart with 74 Syrians aboard, all of whom had forged documents.
